This piece was commissioned through Abundant Silence’s "Compose for a Week program" in 2017. Ayumi Okada says "I was moved to be given the opportunity to honor the connection between them and their parent with my music. I respectfully took that as a theme and wrote this piece called 'Through the Sky'."
